Lots of people ask me to talk about my space adventures, which I’m always delighted to do. I’ve spoken at conferences, summits and TEDx events including WIRED UK (Tate Modern, UK), New Scientist Live (Excel UK) and at NASA Johnson Innovation Summit (Houston USA).
I love giving inspirational talks to work with companies, colleges and schools, chatting about my life goals as well as their dreams and aspirations.
I work with researchers and academics using drama and improvisation skills to assist them in communicating their research with passion and helps them connect more with people from all walks of life. And since I completed the Space Studies Programme in 2015, I’ve been involved in lecturing on communications and arts content at the same programme in 2016, 2017 & 2018.
Niamh and I have worked together on a range of workshops, and devised and delivered the curriculum together for the Space Humanities department at the International Space University's Space Studies Program in summer 2018. Niamh is an exceptional presenter, speaker, teacher, and collaborator. Our preparations for the department were characterised by innovation, enthusiasm and unfailing dedication. Her delivery of material in the classroom is outstanding - particularly for putting the learner at the centre of the experience. She is an excellent person to work with for level-headedness and support with difficult situations, and is never the cause of such situations. I know for certain that she changed the lives of people she encountered this summer, and that she will continue to do this through her passion for teaching and learning and particularly for space.

Niamh Shaw is an excellent communicator, teacher and leader. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and her energy seems to have no bounds. Her approach to work, and life, is "all in" - when she decides that something should get her full attention it gets 200% of her full attention and energy. I've had the honor or knowing Niamh as an International Space University student (excellent, absorbed a broad range of highly technical space subjects with ease), and then working with her as she progressed to Lecturer and then Department Chair of ISU (very well organized, and equal parts teacher, mentor and spirit guide). She took on a very challenging task of re-invigorating ISU's Space Humanities department, and brought fresh ideas and energy to the task. She is passionate about space and the promise of the future, and illustrates this in her art (one woman shows) and how she lives life. A world full of individuals like Niamh would be a wonderful world indeed.
Mars Study Capability Team Lead At NASA Johnson
I first saw Niamh on stage at InspireFest 2017 and was so impressed by her that I invited her to speak to HubSpot employees during our International Women's Day celebrations this March. Niamh not only inspired those who attended her session, but she left them thinking that absolutely anything is possible. Niamh delivered an entertaining, uplifting and motivational talk at HubSpot. which was enjoyed by all. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Niamh to deliver a talk your employees won't forget.
EMEA Culture Program Manager
Niamh is an innovative, intelligent and inspirational creative force, who is able to utilise her diverse and experienced background to create explorations of the interdisciplinary boundaries between the arts and the sciences. A true pioneer in the field of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) I have had the pleasure of working with Nimah on several occasions, ranging from public engagement events that Niamh organised for the British Council to the co-organising of science and art sessions and workshops for the European Geosciences Union. In all of these instances, Niamh has been an effective and efficient leader and a fantastic advocate for interdisciplinarity. In addition to working with Niamh in these capacities, I continue to be astounded by the sheer breadth and quality of the work that she produces, and she remains one of the finest proponents of science communication working anywhere in the world right now.
Senior Lecturer in Science Communication
Niamh and I met at ISU SSP15. She was the leading spirit of our team project "Vision 2040". I was inspired by here charisma and here love for all things space and the magnificent artistic way of doing stuff. Later on, when structuring a team for 2017 Mars simulation at MDRS, Utah, Niamh was our first choice of becoming the artist in residence of our group. She did a fabulous job documenting our two weeks simulation and communicating it to the world. But that wasn't the End. On the first ever space simulation in the Negev desert, Israel, we chose Niamh to be the first foreigner to join our initiative of D-MARS analogue space center. We invited here to come all across the Mediterranean Sea so she can use her story telling skills and tell here D-MARS experience to the world by following the analogue crew and the simulation in mission control room. Her final products were at the highest level and reached all corners of the globe. Niamh is an expert story teller having many skills to support here art. Niamh has a great personality. She is truly a one of a kind.

Niamh is an absolute gem. Her talents are countless and it has been a pleasure working with her on a number of her projects. Her creativity and enthusiasm for STEAM and outreach has no limits . She can captivate an audience of all ages. Niamh encourages everyone to aim for their dreams, as she does on a daily basis, through informed and entertaining ways. Working with Niamh is a delight, she brings a vast knowledge and innovative means of communication to all her projects
Niamh Shaw is inspiring, a skilled storyteller and an engaging speaker/performer. Her commitment to her passion for space is amazing but it is how she combines engineering and art thatmakes me think. I like her permission to fail, it's what all#WomeninSTEM need. Marion Palmer

At Lottie Dolls, we believe that precious moments spent in exploration and invention, in childhood, will lay the foundations for incredible achievements in adulthood. Niamh has helped our company, on lots of occasions, to communicate that message to kids in a super-appealing way. Through her work, Niamh encourages children to believe that the sky is the limit. (Tirelessly cheerful and endlessly inspirational, Niamh’s pretty good at encouraging adults to believe that, too!
We recently had the pleasure of having Niamh as keynote at Talent Summit Cork 2019 and was hugely inspired by her story. There are so many parallels between Niamh's journey and current leadership challenges, which was brought to life through our theme; Talent Revolution: leading change. Niamh's content was rich and delivery sincere, warm and heartfelt. Niamh's story is one of being constantly comfortable being uncomfortable, facing fear, dreaming big, making the impossible possible, humanity and compassion. A World-class act and on the way to becoming universal!
We engaged Niamh as one of our Keynotes for PM Summit 2019. It was a pleasure and joy interacting with Niamh in the lead-up to our event as she was very personable and took the time to understand who our audience were thus ensuring she could relate to them on the day. Her presentation was very well received by all and we had feedback from delegates telling us what an inspiration her story was. Niamh is someone who everyone should try get to listen to at least once in their life, her presentations are thought provoking, inspirational and heartfelt. We look forward to working with Niamh again in the future.
