Sam Illingworth

Senior Lecturer in Science Communication

Niamh is an innovative, intelligent and inspirational creative force, who is able to utilise her diverse and experienced background to create explorations of the interdisciplinary boundaries between the arts and the sciences. A true pioneer in the field of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) I have had the pleasure of working with Nimah on several occasions, ranging from public engagement events that Niamh organised for the British Council to the co-organising of science and art sessions and workshops for the European Geosciences Union. In all of these instances, Niamh has been an effective and efficient leader and a fantastic advocate for interdisciplinarity. In addition to working with Niamh in these capacities, I continue to be astounded by the sheer breadth and quality of the work that she produces, and she remains one of the finest proponents of science communication working anywhere in the world right now.
